Hey, sorry it’s been so long. I’m not sure if people will be interested in blog updates non-poker related, but I’ll give a brief run down of what I’ve been up to since the World Series. I bought a vacation house in Boulder, where I grew up, and I’ve been traveling back and forth between Las Vegas and there. It has been nice to see my friends and family, not to mention getting away from the Vegas heat! I’ve been playing a lot more online, mainly head up cash games. I’m down on the month, but I feel like I’m playing well for the most part. There have been a couple sessions where I didn’t feel like I was playing optimally, but I had the discipline to leave the table shortly thereafter. I’ve competed in a few online tournaments, but haven’t had any major successes, other than a 27th in the $300 rebuy in the FTOPS.
One nice thing about spending time in Colorado is that I’ve been getting into better shape. There are a lot of hiking trails just minutes from my front door, so it’s nice to take my dog Zoe up the mountains and enjoy the beautiful flatirons. I hiked a huge mountain called Mt. Antero a couple weeks back with my dad, the Zo, and my best friend, Tru. It was a really nice hike, with the highlight being when Tru piggie-backed my dad across a stream because he couldn’t get his feet wet on such a long hike. My dad is missing a toe from frostbite, but that’s a whole other story that I’ll save for some other time. I must say though, my dad is a beast. Still hiking 14,000’ mountains at age 62 is a goal I’d like to set for myself.
As for poker, in a few days I’m headed to Spain for the EPT Barcelona and then up to London for the inaugural World Series of Poker Europe. I’ve really had the bug recently and I can’t wait to let the games begin! I know I haven’t updated recently but I’ll keep em coming your way as I head across the pond. Wish me luck!
