lapc day 04

Today was a brutal mix of a lack of cards and a surplus of tough table draws. I don’t mind playing with these guys but I’d love to have a newb to my left instead of Bill Edler, Jason Strasser, and others. Here are the hands from yesterday:

Blinds 4,000/8,000 with a 1,000 ante:

It folds to J.C. Tran one from the cutoff, who makes it $23k. I raise to $75k on the button with A, 2 offsuit and Tran folds.

Blinds 5k/10k with a 1k ante:

Chris Bell makes it 36k under the gun. Ed Moncada calls behind him. I look down at J, J and make it $136K in middle position. Everyone folds

It folds to me on the button and I make it $30k with A, 4 offsuit. The small blind moves in for ~ $250k and I fold.

It folds to my small blind. I make it $35k with 9, 4 offsuit. Same guy in the big blind shoves in again. This is getting really annoying.

Blinds 6k/12k with a 2k ante:

It folds to Joe Awada in the small blind. He moves in for $150k. I call in the big blind with A, J offsuit. He shows A, 4 offsuit. Finally my Ace higher kicker holds.

Blinds 8k/16k with a 2k ante:

I raise $50k in middle position with A, K. Nick Shulman in the small blind goes all-in for $336 more. I’m here to win first, not to eke up a pay jump so I take a chance and call. He shows 3, 3. Really? I have to win a race against 3, 3? The first two cards out are A, K.

I ended the day with $800,000.
